MEET FRANCESCA

Francesca Napolitano is a performer and pedagogue based in Jericho, Vermont. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Music degree in Opera Performance from the Maryland Opera Studio at the University of  Maryland, College Park.

 

Praised for her versatility, Francesca’s performance career spans a wide variety of genres. Operatic highlights include Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Ruth Baldwin in Musto’s Later the Same Evening with Maryland Opera Studio, Morgana in Handel’s Alcina and Barbarina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with University of Michigan Opera Theatre, and the chorus of La Traviata with Opera Company of Middlebury. Recent musical theatre credits include Laurey Williams in Oklahoma! In Concert and Sister Margaretta in The Sound of Music In Concert with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Theatre Company. A choral singer at heart, Francesca sings with the professional chorus Counterpoint and was most recently featured as a soloist in their Act of Remembrance concert series. She also performs frequently around Vermont with her band, Moonbird, playing originals and covering songs in various styles including funk, blues, soul, pop, rock, country, and more. Outside of singing, Francesca also is experienced in straight theatre and burlesque performance.

 

Francesca is the owner of Little Dream Studio, LLC in Jericho, Vermont, which serves as the home base for her voice studio. She also teaches private lessons at the Burlington Music Dojo and Harwood Union Middle and High School. Francesca’s students range in age from 13 to 70, with soprano, mezzo, tenor, baritone, and bass voices represented. She works with students on a variety of genres including classical, musical theatre, folk, rock, pop, jazz, singer-songwriter, reggae, and more. Her approach to teaching uses bel canto as a base on which to build a core technique that will enable students to explore any genre of their choosing in a healthy, efficient, and effective manner. Her unique teaching style enables students of all ages, backgrounds, and voice types to explore a wide range of styles, therefore opening them up to a multitude of musical possibilities and opportunities.

 

Francesca lives in Jericho, VT with her husband Jamie and her cat Suzanne. When she’s not making music, she can be found skiing in the Green Mountains, swimming in Vermont’s beautiful rivers and lakes, rock climbing, gardening, crafting, attempting various DIY home improvement projects, or perfecting recipes for gluten free baked goods.
